Something we all strive for is a feeling of fulfillment. We want to be able to see a checklist (either physically or in our minds) of things that we need to accomplish and we work every day to make that list smaller. Life provides opportunities for advancement and success that everyone wants to be associated with in one capacity or another.
But this checklist we have is our checklist. And that is the problem.
As mentioned in Monday’s post, God knew who each person was meant to be before they were even born. He knows what the checklist of our lives holds, we can only make guesses.
It is an amazing gift we have as Christians to know that nothing we do in life is futile because we were hand-crafted with impeccable intention by the one true King. We have a Father in heaven that made us, is for us, is with us, loves us, and gave us a reason for living each day.
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.” Not “maybe.” Not “I think.” Not “possibly.” But “surely,” and “I know.”
The only thing we should have on our checklists is “listen to God,” because His all-knowing hand will guide us.
